On July 14, 2023, ‘Asama,’ the buffet restaurant at ‘Karuizawa Club Hotel Karuizawa 1130 / Hewitt Resort’ (1453-2 Kamahara, Tsumagoi Village, Agatsuma District, Gunma Prefecture), was reopened after a renovation. The restaurant’s design is inspired by the natural beauty of North Karuizawa, and it now offers an expanded menu with live cooking performances, featuring both Japanese and Western dishes made from locally sourced ingredients.

The menu concept is ‘1130 Tsumagoi TANTO,’ inspired by the Italian word ‘TANTO,’ meaning ‘plenty.’ It features evolved buffet cuisine using abundant local ingredients from Tsumagoi Village and Northern Shinshu. The restaurant, designed to evoke the natural beauty of North Karuizawa’s forests, offers a wide range of culinary options for all ages, including a main live performance corner and a revamped kids’ corner.
